It was refreshing to go to google.com this morning searching for something, as we usually are when we’re online, when the Google logo / image, whatever they call them, captured me.
For starter it reminded me today was the World Cup Final. “Not a soccer fan eh?” No, I actually am. But ask any soccer fan whether they still have interest in the World Cup after the team they route for is out of the competition, and I’d say a good 80% will say that they do. I did lose interest in the World Cup when Italy was eliminated after a shameful 1st round performance. A lot of reasons came into play that resulted in Italy’s elimination, such as Buffon’s injury, an offside goal resulting in a tie with Denmark, and poor player choices made by our beloved Lippi.
Needless to say I continued to watch World Cup games and I’m eager to see who will eventually win today. I heard a commentator on TV the other day say that “the World Cup has been a long month…” where I see that it went by like a blinking thought. I cannot believe that we have to wait another 4 years for this international ritual to re-enliven us. By then, if things go well for me and many others, the next World Cup would be watched in ones own home, next to ones own wife and perhaps even kid. 4 years is way too long!
Best of luck to Spain and Holland tonight. May the best team win – although according to many, the best teams did not make it to the final match.

So a wife and kids are in the pipelines eh? That’s cute..it really is..Can’t way I’d expect a statement like that to come from a lot of guys..maybe I lived in the US for too long..
Heh.. Yes they are in the “pipeline”. Its not that you lived in the States for too long… That trend is common here in the East as well… Marriage is pushed farther and farther back… By both men and women – sadly. Money is the new God > People falsely believing that they should pursue their “careers” postpones decisions to get committed.
